Bad backs - Carrier, slings or nada?

posted 7th Jan
I have a really really bad back. I am in constant pain because of spine issues and muscle problems. I'm also very large bust wise so worried some carrier may not work right? Would a carrier or sling be okay or better for a bad back as opposed to just regular carrying? Are there carriers that'll work for huge people? Or would those slings and wraps work better? They look confusing as hell, are they?

DH has a bad back- about as bad as you are describing. We have an Ergo carrier, and DH can carry DS around for hours without pain.

Also on the FB babywearing page you can get some great deals.
Babysteals sometimes has them as well. You can check their archives or the crawl page.

I have an old back injury that acts up every so often. My Moby wrap has yet to agrivate it, and I carry my 30lb 3yo around in it.

Good to know. I also have back problems (car wreck) and I purchased a Moby Wrap and Baby K'Tan and have been worried about issues. Been thinking about getting an Ergo.
Might have to invest in one

They're a bit pricey, but well worth it. We use ours ALL the time.
