Agree with every bit of that.

I appreciate people willing to say this or that is wrong (even if what they are doing is saying that what *I* do is wrong, at least they are willing to talk about it). It is how I started to untangle a lot of my ideas about parenting & life - because there were things I had ideas about that *I* didn't even know what they were based in or where they came from. And this was before I had kids - so I also hate when I hear someone on here act as if women who don't have kids yet don't have valid opinions or shouldn't debate certain topics. It is what got me prepped for having kids. It made me deconstruct most of my preconceived ideas & realize I wanted to understand more.

I don't understand why your mother would say anything unless the woman was beating her child. I sometimes give LO a light smack on the butt. I would had told your mother to mind her own business if she had said something to me. This one time, this lady called me out because I had LO sit in the front of the grocery carts. I think people mind other's business more than needed.
