Clogged ducts are like pesky relatives...

Well at least mine are because it's been SIX days (with taking 1500 mg of amoxicillin per day), and I've only gotten ride of one (I think?) and GAINED two more!!!! They won't go away!!!   I'm getting really scared they will turn into abscesses

Take Lecithin. It helps avoid them. Taking an antibiotic will not get rid of a clog, you ahv eot work i tout yourself with nursing, compressions, warm water. Antibiotics only prevent or treat the infection they can cause.

I know, but they are getting infected which is why I'm taking amoxicillin. I guess that wasn't relevant to my post though haha. I've been doing massage during nursing and during hot baths/showers....where can I get the lecithin from? Sounds like something I need since I overproduce. I think I may try dangle feeding too

Lecithin is just a supplement you can get at any health food store or pharmacy. Literally, it's available everywhere (it's also useful in prevent styes in the eye in case you ever need to know - lol).

If it is from over producing, try wearing cabbage leaves in your bra for a few hours a day until supply regulates. It should help decrease overproduction. Try not go too long between feeds & such too. are you nursing or jus tpumping? If you don't have to, try not to pump as pumps tend to give these more often than nursing since they don't empty the breast as well as nursing does. Also take a look at the end of your nipple & see if you have any small white plugs at the tip that you can see.
