Any knitters out there?

posted 7th Jan
I decided to take up knitting to help my depression. I thought it would be fun and relaxing and make me feel good when I finished a project. Man was I wrong. It is way harder than it looks. So I have a question that maybe on of you ladies can help me with. When I knit I have a hard time getting my knit to be the same tightness (I guess that is what you would say) all the way through and I will have really loss loops in places. What can I do to help not do this? TIA

Practice, and lots of it. Crochet is a bit easier, give that a go?

I am very crafty and knitting is the ONE thing thrown at me that I just cannot master. Maybe you are crochet brained like me.

Crochet for Dummies is actually really awesome if you're interested.

Nope I am bound and determined now. I will do this!  I am getting better. I guess I just have to keep at it.

Maybe I will end up trying out both.

best part about all that stuff is you can just unravel it all by pulling the string right   I second the lady above jsut practice and it should all become the same consistency once you get your own feel for it.. gooood luckkk

Thanks. I am going to keep at it. I am working on making a scarf for my dd right now. I must have pulled that thing apart and restarted 100xs lol.

I do both and have zero patience for knitting. Takes so much longer and it really is harder. I can do it and am good at having consistent tension, but I prefer crochet!

Practice and patience
I knit and crochet. I prefer knitting, but crochet is much faster and a bit easier.
Youtube has some really helpful videos with tips and tricks.

My mom kicked ass at crochet the first time she tried. Lucky bitch is good at everything. Where the hell is my talent MOM!

I do it all. And decently well.

But I can't read F'ing patterns so I can't make the awesome stuff!

I just finished a baby blanket a few mins ago---I can do squares   and I managed a ruffle trim with no pattern   I will never do a trim without a pattern again! Evil!!!

The abbreviations kill me. And they're not standardized so some companies call tr same stitch two different things!
