Concerned...

I'm 8 weeks pregnant and I've had some mild cramping for a few days, and then today I started bleeding it was brown and barely enough to need a panty liner an then it turned bright red, still not very much, and a couple of small clots..... Is that normal, I'm just freaked out I got pregnant on birth control and took up until I found out I was pregnant last week.. I was also taking a narcotic and muscle relaxer for a week for a shoulder injury... I never experienced this with my first I'm freaking out!!!

If you're having clots (small or not) I'd go get looked at to be safe, because your hormones could be fluctuating too much for your body to handle a baby. Otherwise, as long as the pain isn't severe and the bleeding isn't absolutely severe, it's probably nothing to worry about.

Call your OB. A lot of them will have a way to contact an on call nurse or doctor for things like this and you can ask them over the phone if you should go in or not.

Well I called an made my first appt, and I wasn't worried then because it was brown blood... I really don't want to have my first ultrasound till hubby gets back on the 21st.... If I go in and there's something wrong is there really anything they can do?

I'm sorry to say, but if there's anything wrong, there's probably nothing they'll be able to do...

Depends what is wrong really.

Well thanks ladies, I'll take it easy tomorrow and if it gets worse ill call and see about getting checked out... I hope I'm not miscarrying baby wasn't planned and I'm in the middle of nursing school but I was kind of gettin used to the idea of having another :/

I miscarried last night. Hcg levels at 16000 yesterday but ultrasound confirms no baby
