restless leg syndrome... driving me insane! meds?
posted 7th Jan
Anyone who has RLS, have you taken any meds for it? If so what is it and did it work?
It's getting so bad for me. I am fine all day, then BAM, as soon as I sit down for the night to relax, it feels like ants are crawling through my leg muscles and it only goes away temporarily when I move them.

Take a hot bath. I would usually deal with it until bedtime and take a hot bath and go straight to bed. If you want to relax, take a hot bath and go relax. You will probably have to take another bath before bed though to get you to sleep. Sorry
It really really sucks. Now that I'm on bedrest in the hospital I don't even have a bath and I'm going INSANE.

dont take the meds. i was taking them and then found out they can cause infertility. ive been using a heating pad for almost 3 years on my feet at night or anytime i have an issue and it works way better than the meds ever did.

Stretch your shin muscles, if that made any sense.

Isn't it the most difficult thing to describe?
We dont have a bat tub big enough for an adult (our tub is really short), but i bet that would be great.
I just want someone to club me over the head sometimes so I could get some rest, it is THAT frustrating.

I had it TERRIBLY when I was pregnant. Only thing that helped was my SO rubbing my back, or blasting the AC and freezing them. They have a natural medicine at Walmart I saw recently. I was pissed! lol I could have used that 2 years ago.

Infertility would be fine with me, lol I need to reschedule my tubal (got sick right before the surgery and had to postpone it).
I'll try the heating pad, thanks! I wonder if the cold can make it worse, as I don't remember it being this bad over the summer
I'm going to try that now.

It was bad for me too during pregnancy, but it's back with a vengeance
For some reason.
I had it when I was about 19-20 periodically, then nothing until I got pregnant for the second time.
Interesting that cold temps helped you. If heat doesn't work, maybe I'll hop into the snow, lol.

Isn't it the most frustrating thing ever? Ugh! I can remember laying in her almost asleep and then it would hit me, and I would just kick out of anger and trying to help. I hope you find some relief mama!

Yes! I'm feeling pissy now because we can't find the heating pad. Errrrgggh.

the cold does make it worse. and the infertility was an issue for us. it took us 3+ years to get pregnant. but its good that it wont be an issue for you. but the dr said that the heat is better for it than the cold. the cold will aggravate it more.
