Can a 9 month old be spoiled?

I'm just wondering because I think my son might be. Recently he has started throwing a fit if he doesn't get his way and he sometimes scares me with his tantrums. He will arch his back, kick his legs, shake his head back and forth, and scream at the top of his lungs. Is this normal in a 9 month old? He wants me and only me to hold him 24/7 and mostly does this when I try to put him down. I love holding him and wouldn't mind spending my whole day holding him if I could, but I have things that I have to accomplish around the house so that's just not possible. Have I spoiled my little one? He is teething right now and cutting his first tooth. Could that have something to do with his clinginess? If anyone has any advice, I need all I can get!

I think its the teething. 

I would say teething for sure.

Some ppl may say not but I think they can be. My 9 month olds are. If I pick one up with out the other it starts crying. If I try to sit them in to their highchair they get mad, until they see the food. lol They also will arch their backs and kick.

I don't think so. You cannot spoil a child unless it's with material things. They crave affection.

I definitely think teething. LO cut his first tooth two days after he turned 9 months old. What you describe is all he did. Basically he hurts and momma makes him feel better. He wants you for good reason.  

Teething causes them to be SUPER clingy..

That being said..yes, you can spoil them. My husband totes my chunkybutt all around the house..and he does NOT want to be put down after that. He expects it.

I advise baby wearing...it really helps.

Awe he must be so miserable then   We have been giving him Tylenol and frozen teething toys, but I don't know what else to do to help him  

My 9 month old does the same thing. He's not spoiled; I don't think you can spoil a baby this young. He still has needs at this point, and relies on you for those needs. Affection is one of those needs.
It's probably the teething. Right now my son is getting his second tooth on top (4th total), and is really clingy. His teeth are hurting him and he doesn't understand and just wants his mommy (same with your son). Wear him if you have a carrier/moby/sling.

it's impossible to spoil an infant.

My daughter is the same age and she is doing the same exact thing. I know she is tething because of the amount of drool and he constant need to bite everything. I just thought she was in a clingy phase. If I put her down she freaks out and crawls right back to me, saying "momma, momma, momma". I cant even put her in the playpen while I go to the bathroom without her crying for me. My poor little baby
