36 weeks and many issues...s

WARNING VERY LONG...okay so I have had a difficult pregnancy this time around. @23 weeks I went into preterm labor. They gave me the trebulin (sp?) shot and stopped them. I also got the steroid shot for her lungs. One week later my dog tripped me down the stairs and bruised my ribs. So anytime the baby moved It hurt very bad. I was doing great after that. No issues until an ultrasound at 28 weeks. They discovered the umbilical cord was only a two vessel, and can cause kidney issues for her. (She has both kidneys tho) Dr reassured me the baby will be fine just needs extra monitoring. 2 weeks ago I woke up covered in hives head to toes and everywhere in between. I fought that for 4 days and finally got relief with Lotrimin spray. Was in the hospital last Thursday and after three hours of contractions 3 min apart they sent me home because i wasn't having cervical changes. They told me when the contractions got too painful to come back in. 12 hours later with contractions 2 min apart I went back in. They monitored me for 3 hours then gave me the trebulin shot again to stop the contractions. I was very very upset about this. They took a lot of blood work after that, then sent me home. I had a dr appt today and I am positive for group b strep, have a low platelet count, my sugars are out of wack, and dr wants an ultrasound to check the baby and her growth and fluid levels. Has anyone else had multiple issues like this? After so many issues I don;t know if i can emotionally handle anything else going wrong...

Sorry you are going through a tough time. When I was pregnant with the twins I had a lot of stuff going on. I never got over the morning sickness, horrible heart burn, pregnancy rash, leaking fluids at 19 wks (it quit on it's own) and early labor at 33 wks I had to be given a shot of tributline/brethaine (sp?) and pills to take every 4 hours at home to stop the contractions and I was dilated to 2 and 70% effaced. The med caused horrible shaking! I couldn't even hold a cup of anything with out spilling it from it sloshing out. I started using a sports bottle lol. The babies lungs weren't ready at 33wks and I had other issues going on like a bed resting heart rate of 120-140. The brethaine worked for about a week then quit and I was switched to Nipedpien (sp?). It made me swell and have horrible headaches. Despite the attempts to postpone labor the meds quit working. I dilated to 5cm and 100% effaced. They babies were born at 36+1 and were healthy babies weighing 6 lbs 2 oz 19.25" and 5 lbs 7 oz 18.5" They never had to go to the NICU or even have oxygen! Hang in there it will be worth it in the end. Good Luck momma!

Lol Ok since we're sharing war stories. Last pregnancy i found out i was pregnant early (3ish weeks). I went in for an U/S and they didn't see anything so i was told i was having a miscarriage. 2 weeks later there was a heartbeat and 2 weeks after that there were 2 sacs. One was a vanishing twin.
Around 10 weeks i began to have 'cramping' which dilated my cervix to 2cm's by 12 weeks. At that time, my placenta was actually covering my cervix. (Lucky me) So i had the cerclage placed like normal (stitch to close cervix) and I was put on strict bedrest for about a month or so. I'm diabetic.. so my blood sugar numbers are always funky. Thankfully i didn't have any bleeding issues, but I was treated like a ticking time bomb for several weeks. I had contractions in there too.
Fast forward to 29 weeks where i almost delivered my son because I had diarrhea from some medication i was on to help with blood sugar. I'm type 1 so i shouldn't have been on the meds anyway and they didn't help. It was dehydrating me. The contractions were 2 minutes apart for days. I was pretty miserable.
I had bleeding at 32 weeks and I started dilating through the cerclage by 34 weeks which led to an emergency removal and another overnight stay in the hospital. Around 36 weeks, i had a gush of fluid which was never identified as leaking fluid. I was 'induced' at 39 weeks (halloween night), but I was already in labor so they never actually induced me. Baby's heart rate went nuts and I ended up with an emergency c-section where they discovered that my water had actually ruptured at 36 weeks. LO was also earlier than expected gestationally. He had preemie issues so he spent the next 4 days in the NICU. He also ended up being 10lbs 5oz, Because of that, I had a funky c-section scar which caused a weak spot in my uterus.
All of that though and my son is perfectly healthy. I even breastfed for a year.
