That sounds like a huge potential mess right there.

Just explain that you would be more comfortable if it were done in a legal means and it wouldn't feel right giving his wife a baby that wasn't genetically hers. I'm sure they'd understand

Just tell her you are open to doing it the legal way with her egg and his sperm and not any other way...if they don't have the money then I'm sorry there's no way I would give away my baby for a few grand

No lawyers even? You absolutely would need your own attorney (picked by you, paid for by them) and a contract beforehand.

I can see you being taken to court for child support for this.

#1 he's your boyfriend, not your husband. You're willing to go through 9 months of stretching, pulling, kicking, being sick, and giving birth, to give someone YOUR baby?

You don't think that will effect your relationship with your SO?
Do you think he will be sympathetic to your pregnancy when it's not his baby?
How do you think your SO will feel about you having someone else's baby...and it literally being YOURS and another man's?
How do you think you'll feel when you give birth to your child and then some woman and another man just take it from you and hand you a check?

They don't have the money to do it the real way....so a woman is agreeing to give you her husband's sperm, and your boyfriend is okay with this....yet they have a few grand to hand you when it's all said and done?
