re: Go to the ER? :/

posted 7th Jan
When I was having morning sickness and indigestion, I wasn't eating properly because I felt like crap. When I would eat, my stomach freaked out because it was so excited to have food in there, it tried to digest it too fast and I'd get heartburn. Try having small snacks first like raisins or crackers, then work your way up from there. Also make sure you eat regularly. I find myself needing to eat every 3 hours but I get by with my 3 main meals a day and eating dry fruits or yoghurts and such. There are things that doctors can prescribe to relieve heartburn and acid reflux in pregnancy so perhaps see a doctor if eating small bits at a time doesn't help.

I haven't had heartburn or acid reflux yet. It's more like I can barely eat because ill start to feel miserably full when before I could eat my whole plate of food with no problems. On top of feeling so full on little bits of food I start to feel sick and it just makes me not want to eat. I get the excited feelings about having food in there part too....just because I'm scared to eat from feeling sick I still get hungry and excited to want to eat lol!

I just went to the ER sunday for similar issues. I've had severe morning sickness, stomach pains and headaches. I'm 14 weeks. They did an ultrasound of the baby and my internal organs, gave me an iv for fluids and to give me zofran for nausea, and took a bunch of blood. I was dehydrated and low on potassium. I unfortunately still have a bad headache and they couldn't diagnose my stomach pain. I don't think going to the er is a bad thing if you're dehydrated and you can't hydrate yourself. But if you can hydrate yourself then do it. You'll feel much better. Try to eat healthy, you could be depleting yourself of minerals.
