re: allergy testing a 4 year old?

Quoting loser mom:" That's not true at all. When you develop an allergy, you also produce antibodies to it, and that's ... [snip!] ... that's what the blood is used for - antibody testing to each individual allergen. The scratch test is pretty old school. "

All the drs I have talked to say that the blood test is less accurate.

We are testing her because she has had a couple cases of contact dermatitis, she also scratches herself until she bleeds constantly.

We are ruling our allergies before we take her in for another sensory eval.

*sigh* m is the same way. She also gets so hyper and worked up she literally can not control herself. She wants to be good so bad, but can't.

Quoting thechelseamonster:" Landon's was easy peasy. Two panels of scratches on his back, they were all done at once. The hardest thing was him wanting his shirt back on and wanting to lie down during the half hour wait."
Same with ours. It was so simple. She just laid there, didn't feel a thing. I asked about a blood test but the doctor wouldn't consider it, she said scratch test is the best way to find allergies. But yeah, it was a breeze.

Same here. Sometimes she'll get goong so much she'll get crying and cant calm down and she pUkes. Dh gets flustered and makes it worse. Talking in a mean voice saying stop crying isnt gonna work.

They did my daughters when she was 5 ,but they did it at the same time they took her tonsils out so she was asleep for it. Will they be giving something to make your child drowsy or some pain meds ?

we have always had some sensory things, so its not a surprise they are showing up again. They show up the same time she starts stuttering to
