very early teething!

posted 7th Jan
DD is 3 weeks 6 days and is teething already! I dont care what you say about 'not possible' blah blah, she is drooling loads, eating her fist a lot more, constantly wanting to nurse, she wont settle and is crying a lot (very unusual for her) and when i rub her little white stump that she has on her gum she relaxes a lot and bites down on my finger to put pressure on the tooth!

Why would someone say that its not possible? Some kids are born with teeth.

My son had a tooth at two weeks... no one believed me until I opened his mouth to show them. But it never came out all the way... it just went back in one day. Go figure.

It is very possible, and a lot of times they come up, and go back down many times before they will actually cut through.

I've just read previous posts on here about similar things and there was a lot of women saying "it's not possible that they are teething so young" but whoops my bad! i didn't mean to judge you all so quickly!

It's so horrible to see her so distressed!
Is there anything i can give her in the way of medication or home remedies that will make it more bearable for her? I know gels at this age are out of the question... i heard getting a teething ring and put it in the freezer? Only issue there though is that she is far too young to grasp onto it and put it in her mouth herself, but i could do it for her?

Was every single night a battle to get them to settle? or were there nights where she would settle pretty easily?
As much as I hate to see her in distress and wish for her to be okay, I do need some sleep too... I've had 1 hour sleep in the last 50ish hours and still trying to stay strong but I am starting to struggle...

You could freeze a wet washcloth and rub it on her gums. I used one of those mesh baby feeders filled with ice for DS, but he was like 4 months and up, so I don't know how well that would work :/ They have those Hyland's teething tabs, but again, I'm not sure if they are age appropriate. I'm so sorry   Teething is a terrible time for little ones. Lots of cuddles and warm baths for comfort.
