membrane sweep?

my due date is tomorrow and I have a doctors appt thursday. My midwife says if i make it til then shell do a membrane sweep. Im curious if it worked for anyone else? She said its a 50\50 chance. I also heard it can be really uncomfortable. This is probably the only intervention that I will allow..i really want to do everything possible to keep from being induced or have medical intervention, but if the membrane sweep is pointless then why do it lol. I did wake up this morning with my hips throbbing, and last night I had some contractions with cramps. Today Ive felt alot of pressure and twinges of pain down low...so maybe i wont need it thursday? Lol hopefully.

It is very uncomfortable but labors gonna hurt anyway lol it didn't work for me tho :/

It really hurt and didn't work.

yea the last 2 times she checked me i thought i was gonna kick her it hurt so bad, so i can imagine it does hurt.

I'm also due tomorrow. I've had 3 now... most recently today. I'm being induced on Thursday for a few reasons. I've heard that if your body is readu, it could work, but mine seems VERY ready and it hasn't. I even had 2 different people do my sweeps to make sure that wasn't the issue lol

I was in early labor less than 10 hours later...

i had it done & went into labor..it also was a bit uncomfy!!

I was in early labor for over a month, and it didn't work for me. I had mine done at 40 w 3 d.

It's only uncomfortable for a minute or less. You might get crampy later on, but it just means your body is changing. Hope it works for you  

make sure you go walking after   don't just go sit down!
