In 18 years..*Warning, Pic*

posted 7th Jan
I have been cooking since I was like 8.

I have NEVER cut myself like I did tonight.

This is a picture of bandage number 1. I had it on for 5 minutes before I had to change it out because of how much blood.

I am getting ready to change out bandage number 2.

Shout out to my husband who had me bandaged up within 30 seconds of me cutting myself!

I still cut myself regularly and I cook for a living, it happens.

If you don't stop bleeding soon please do go get it looked at.

The bleeding has drastically slowed down.

Aaron told me the most they will put in is like 1 stitch, so I will just keep an eye on it.

It'll burn like a son-of-a-bitch, but if the cut is not too big or deep, you can use super glue to stitch it up.

It's just weird that it bleeds that much, to me it doesn't even look that bad.

I know it's a blurry picture, my camera sucks.

LOL, don't mind my Christmas decorations in the background. We're taking them down tomorrow.

Dh and I have done this a few times. Works pretty well, but yes, it does not feel good. Lol

I don't have any super glue, or else I would have used it. The bleeding finally stopped, though right above the cut, it's blue. As long as I don't put any pressure around the area, it should be ok.

I'm just glad DH took today off for Francis's birthday! I probably would have really panicked if he wasn't here.

My dad is a retired plastic/hand surgeon and not too long ago I cut my thumb just like that. He suggested cutting a couple of thin strips from the sticky part of a band aid to make tiny butterfly stitches to keep the wound closed tight. It work out great because without them I would keep reopening the wound and would start bleeding all over again. I had to use them for about a week. It may be already resolved for you now though and if so, great!

Actually, today is the first day I am able to put pressure on my thumb without making it bleed.

I'll keep that in mind though for future reference. Thanks!

I've only seen that much blood when a guy cut himself accidently with a KABAR.
