Jail for me was much harder as a child, it was easier having my mom in prison where I could physically hug her. I hated visiting her while in jail.

I just asked my 3.5 year old who goes to jail, He said bad guys.

So maybe make it clear that you aren't a bad guy.

Are you turning yourself in? There's no reason for him to have to watch you get arrested like that. My mom turned herself in, she came to see us before she did it.

I think her child has seen more than we are thinking which is terribly sad.

Well, OP, if you can avoid having him see you in that position...I would avoid it at all costs.

I've worked in several Jails and a prison, While it's hard for the kids, I never remember them being upset about visiting the parent. Leaving yes, but not during the visit.

I really don't think a 3 year old would get jail at all.

I'd just say mommy is going bye bye for awhile.
And good thing he's 3 because he won't remember later that you were gone for so long.

I agree is like telling a nb momny is going to jail. Like what are tge chances the child is going to take that well.

our jail will let parents have like 10 minutes with their kids in their little conference room if requested. Of course a gaurd has to be there and you can't be in there for anything that is absolutely horrible.
