I meant lying about how long it was....

& insurances are getting really strict with ultrasounds. I had to have all mine approved before I could have any done. I use to have them weekly then it went to every two weeks and next week it's back to weekly. I know before I was high risk (which started around 16 weeks) my insurance would only cover my dating ultrasound, anatomy scan & a 34-38 week scan. So three in total (& if I ended up in the hospital they would cover those).

I personally have never heard of an anatomy scan being an hour or more.....but that's just from talking with friends who have had there's. Maybe if your baby doesn't cooperate or if the tech wants more then one measurement or picture of something it could. With DD, it wasn't that long I don't think.
It definitely takes more then 5 minutes though.

If your doctor zoomed out, he could've gotten all or most of baby in the picture. I have ultrasounds from when DD was around 25 weeks and the tech was able to get most of her in it.

My OB only usually does three ultrasounds as well.
A Viability ultrasound, a dating ultrasound, and an anatomy scan.
He did an extra one at 17 weeks 6 days because I had been in the ER for HG and he was worried.
He doesn't have a tech do them he does them him self in his office. Does that make a ny difference?
I'll let you guys know how long this one takes.

Yeah I am not trying to hear that line of BS about not getting all of her in the pic this time. He has done 3 ultrasounds so far, but only gave me one print out around 11 weeks. The 14 week ones I paid for at an elective ultrasound palce cuz I wanted to know gender ASAP.

I had mine at exactly 20 weeks and it hurt so bad bc she pressed down a lot. It's like she didn't even care. But mine lasted about 30 minutes even though the paperwork they gave me prior said its an hour long procedure.

It doesn't matter really. I personally like when a tech does my ultrasounds instead of my doctor. The tech seems to explain things more. Plus, the tech at my OBs office has his own machine (which is brand new and one of the best out there) so he doesn't let the OB use it.

He only gave you one picture? That doesn't seem right. I get tons of pictures from all of mine. Especially when I go to the 4D ultrasound place. I've done that twice already this pregnancy. I'll be going one more time within the next few weeks. It's totally worth the money.

there is no way your antomy scan last time was 5 minutes. the anotmy scan is not to find out the gender, its to check out everything. the gender is just an extra.

Yeah I think my OB is cheap. He has the oldest ultrasound machine ever. and though I am fond of him from my last pregnancy, he is kind of abrupt.
So much more fun when I pay for them. me and my fiance are having some around 28 29 weeks for his birthday. but today will be the last ultrasound from my OB's office. Going to really try for a pic this time for sure.

You should go when you're further along then that. The baby will look much better if you go around 33-36 weeks. I did DDs around 34 weeks (can't remember exactly when) and she looked JUST like the ultrasound when she came out. I'm glad I had it done when I did because I had DD about a week later.

But when ever you do go, hopefully your LO cooperates and you get good pictures!

My u/s will be at least an hour, but I'm having a Level II scan b/c of DD's birth defect and it's being done by the MFM not just a tech.

With my DD, my scan was 20-30 min. I had my scans with DS done in Germany and things are different there.

I've never gotten more than a few pics to take home. My insurance'll only cover 2 scans, the dating one and the anatomy one. With DD I only had the anatomy scan. This time I had the dating one (that the bitch of a tech didn't let us watch and I bitched about it to my OB) and I'll have my anatomy one done Wed

Looks like I'm getting a level 3 ultrasound with a perinatologist around 23 weeks also. Pretty stoked for that.
Maybe I'll do it around 33 weeks insted then. My daughter looked like her 28 week one. You could see her lips and nose look like mine.
I love love love ultrasounds and so does my fiance. I is a lucky girl. My ex husband didn't really care for them at all.

Today it was about 10 15 minutes. My OB called what he was doing a level 2 ultrasound, and is sending me for a level 3 with a perinatologist. Is that she same as what you are doing?

thanks   we are doing alright i guess...been pretty stressful. my aunt had passed away and saturday was her funeral. i go for another ultrasound thursday and a fetal-echocardiogram on the 25th. turns out tho i failed my 1 hour GD test so im a little worried about that

Very sorry for your loss momma. R.I.P
I am having a level 3 ultrasound on the 18th. All I know is that it is being done by a perinatologist and not my OB. Not much else about what to expect there.
Everything looked good. This is a just in case measure.
Did your OB say how badly you did on the Glucose? You might just be slightely over hopefully. Has your weight gain been normal?
