posted 7th Jan
I've been at losing weight a while, but I'm still going strong! lol. Looking back, this has been my progress so far:

I've still got work to do, but I'm thrilled. I haven't been this healthy ever probably. =D

Thanks! I am finally done having kids so it was a great time to get rid of weight. I've never been small, so finally losing a lot is really great.

Also, excuse the dirty mirrors. The kids lick them and touch them, haha. There is NO way to keep them that clean.

CONGRATS! You've done a great job!
I wanted to pop in real fast because you're start weight & now weight are very close to my current/goal weight. I am currently 182 & haven't been able to move the scale up or down since I had my 1st baby almost 4 years ago. My goal weight is 150-160. I'd obviously rather be around 150, BUT in keeping with my new positive attitude, I would also be very happy with reaching 160
(I am 5'6 & have two little girls.)

Mine are pretty close too. When I first started dieting I was 204. I was disgusted that I let myself get over 200 so I kicked it into gear. 4 mos later I got preg at 182. Now I'm 194 and have about 3 weeks left of weight gain. I'm hoping now to gain too much especially since I'm on bed rest   but my pals is also about 160, hell I'd be happy 170 because I was 163 when I got preg with my first and was a rail!!! I am dense haha. Plus I accept that my hips widened so I figure in some extra weight for the change in body shape. But if I got in the 160s that'd be awesome.

I was totally stuck around 180! I mean, I got pregnant twice, went up, but went back down to about 180 within a few weeks of having them. It took lots of work to get down from there.

I'm quite a bit shorter then you, so that's why I still have a ways to go. I'm only 5'2, well, a little less then that, haha. So, I really JUST got out of the obese category.

Sometimes I get depressed because it's taken a while, but then I remind myself that I'm doing this the 100% healthy way. No pills, no crash diets. Just lifestyle changes, so I can stick with that.

And that's what's important. I hate to say "diet" because it's not really a diet to eat right haha.

I use diet in the technical sense. It's what I eat, thus it's my diet. Just like rabits and dogs and fish eat a "diet" of specific food. So anythign I eat is part of my diet, haha.

But yes, it's important to just learn to take it day by day and make better choices. I got a fitbit that helps me stay WAY more active, and I track my calories on myfitnesspal (usually, lol). But my way of eating is different in general. I don't drink soda often, I don't eat candy like I used to. I eat much smaller amounts, almost no fast foods.

Of course, whenever someone in real life see's my weight loss and asks me how I did it I ALWAYS manage to have a soda, or piece of cake, or SOMETHING bad in my hand, haha.

Yeah, you always have to sort of figure out your frame. I mean, I'd love to be tiny, but I don't think I'll ever be. I'm just not made that way. I have hips, a butt, and boobs. Those things aren't going to just go away magically. lol. I need to be under 135 I think it is to be "normal weight" but we'll see as I lose. I'm really not sure where my goal is.

You look so tiny though. I can't imagine another 20lbs off

Yeah, see, that's why I don't know where I'll end up. I'm really short, so it's hard to say. I just got into size 8 pants, so I'm thrilled no matter what! And I'm healthier, and my fibro and gluten issues are better. So, I figure I just stick with eating good amounts of good foods, and exercising, and the actual weight will sort of take care of itself and end up where it should be, haha.

That's how I feel too. I don't focus on weight as much as how I look and feel. I guess I just got used to it because I'm not petite so I know i won't see the small numbers some people see.

I carry all my extra weight in my belly. I was proportioned until after I had baby #1! Then the belly weight just stuck & all fat from there on out collected there! My legs are in shape, arms, face isn't all chunky looking (LOL) so if I can just get rid of the belly I'd be a happy lady!
We got a gym membership back in August, used to go 4 days a week, running 2 miles each day. However we bought our house in October, moved mid November, and now we're 35 minutes away from the gym, so it's not as convenient as it was when we were only 15 minutes away! We still go 1-2 times a week & I'm still running 2 miles each time, then swimming afterwards, but I realized I can exercise all I want, but until I change my eating habits, no improvement will take place. I'm going to really focus on my snacking issues & only have 1 "non water" drink each day. Drinking pop & juice are just crazy extra calories that I realize I don't need to survive!
