I guess we just don't understand why you want one. I do understand that it is becoming a more popular trend but I def would have preferred to have given birth the way it was intended. I hope you get to do whatever you choose to do.

Doesn't make it right. Or a good decision.

Actually there are lower chances of some things going wrong and higher chances of other things going wrong (namely hemorrhaging since the uterus doesn't expell the placenta naturally).

No one knows YOUR body better than YOU, and if you feel that a c-section is best then I'd get out the yellow pages and start calling doctors and asking if they can accomodate what you need/want. They will be a little nicer I'm sure, and since this isnt too much of a popular thing they will know a lot more than us on this one.

I would never trust a physician that would do an elective c-section!

Agreed, but those of us who have had c-sections know how horrible they are to recover from and have a hard time understanding why you want to put yourself through that if you didn't have to. I would have given anything to have a vaginal birth!

check this link........http://abcnews.go.com/Health/TurningPoints/Story?id=3291512&page=1read both pages not just the first one...The second page is where the cons of elective c-section are discussed. Personally I think it is a bad idea...since I was born via c-section and I got asthma from it...still have it. I was emergency cesarean...why inflict possible complications doing something unnatural by choice if your body is MADE to give birth? Sure, cesareans are a good alternitive if medially needed..but not "just because".

Why would you ONLY GET PREGNANT if you could have a c-section??

I don't even care why you're choosing a c-section, but want to know why even get pregnant if that's the only reason??

I hate to admit this but my SIL had an elective c-section. She said that she did not want to go throught he "trauma" of "real" child-birth and wanted to plan her pre-baby getaway without fear of delivering (she is not well liked by my family...ok...we fucking hate her. There, I said it.)
Her doctor agreed to it and delivered my niece at 35 weeks, 3 days. Yes...you read that correctly. She was on c-pap and oxygen and spent the next 3 weeks in the NICU.
Her OB agreed to do it that early because my SIL had bad heartburn and couldn't sleep well anymore. I have bartely spoken to her since the birth. My actual sister, who is a OB/GYN freaked when she found out and reamed my SIL and brother out for days. Her doctor was a piece of shit for doing that to the baby and listening to her stupid reasoning.

I think either way it's ridiculous. I would have NEVER chosen to have a c-section. They are incredibly painful and they SUCK. Plus...I think she's kind of a puss to want a c-section...why...so she won't ruin her 40 year old vag?

----You're 40 years old but you can't handle people asking you questions and wondering why you're going to do something???

I still am curious why you only got pregnant after knowing you could have an elective c-section.

If you were told at the time when you were in Cali that you couldn't get a c-section just because, would that have prevented you from trying to get pregnant???
