Nipple stimulation, not dilated, help?

I'm 38+1, I went to my OB this morning & I'm not dilated or thinned out at all. I started using nipple stimulation yesterday on & off & had some really good contractions going. I was wondering if you can use it to help dialte your cervix? Or if I keep it up will it send me into labor? I can't be induced & if I don't go into labor I'll be having a csection on the 16th. I really want to avoid a csection. I've tried everything to help so far. Birthing ball, walking, sex, etc for a couple of weeks now & it hasn't done anything. I'm desperate, the only thing I've gotten any results out of was nipple stimulation & that was just contractions.

My mom didn't start dilating with me or my brothers before she was in labor, if that has anything to do with how I'll be.

Anyway, I'm rambling because I so badly want to try for a VBAC, even just the CHANCE. So the bottom line is, can nipple stimulation help induce labor even if I'm not dilated? I know baby won't come if he isn't ready, blah blah blah. But I'm desperate here.

Anyways I dont know that much about nipple stimulation. I used primrose pills and took castor oil (my dr. said it was fine)

Well even if you were dilated or thinned it doesnt really matter. They come when they want. Im thinned and dilated some, have frequent contractions and cramps and my son is content.

Oh wanted to add one day I wasnt dilated or anything and then two days later I had my natural vbac. Stay positive!

I didn't see the part about the VBAC.

Anyway, nothing is going to work if her baby and her body aren't ready. I definitely wouldn't recommend castor oil (or rather, she shouldn't try it without talking to HER doc first).

Can you have a sweep?

This! My second sweep worked. Mind you I was already 4cms.. I hope you get your VBAC!!

No need to be a bitch. Yes, I am well aware of that. Are you in my situation? Do you know what I'm going through? No. If I was in a different situation I would be waiting. Jesus Christ.

They can't strip my membranes until I'm dilated at least to a 2 or 3 otherwise it won't do anything. Just like with anything I suppose. I won't do the castor oil thing because it can cause the baby to have his first BM & swallow meconium & I'm really not up for risking that. :/

There a def. ways to help labor start. *KEELY I would keep trying the things you are doing and then when you see your dr. next ask about castor oil if it interests you. I plan on using it again for this baby.

Why are they going to section you so soon?

I've also read that castor oil can cause really strong contractions & I don't know if that would be good on my scar. Just too many cons for me to even consider it really.

dkn my dr. said it was safe but people will bitch at you on here cause they are ignorant. Vbac is intense and if you dont want to end up with a Csection you do what helps. I went through it so I get where your comming from.
