Yes, it can, which in turn can deprive the baby of oxygen, which is what causes the baby to pass meconium in some cases. It's not a good idea.

No, people are not ignorant. It's a known fact that using laxatives during pregnancy can lead to dehydration. It's dangerous. Just because YOU think it's okay, doesn't make the rest of the population ignorant.  

Can they honestly make you come in for a c-section? I mean seriously why do they need to schedule you for one if your wishes are to have LO naturally? Unless of course there is something medically wrong with you or LO waiting until baby is ready is always best..

My doctor isn't exactly VBAC friendly, I don't even know why he's allowing me to try, but I'm taking what I can get. My csection was already scheduled before I mentioned VBAC. I didn't really realize how badly I was setting myself up for failure by not asking him to push my csection date back to 42 weeks until after it was too late. I know I can just not show up, but I trust him. I'll be 39+3 when they do my section & I just want my rainbow here & in my arms. I've had a really rough day, I was expecting to be dilated at least a little & my cervix is doing nothing. It's low & the nurse could feel his head, but otherwise I'm tightly closed.

Its not about castor oil or any laxative. I asked my dr. and they said it was fine but anyways everyone is jumping at her because shes trying to start labor. If she doesnt have the baby by a certain day she WILL have a Csection. Thats how it works and Im assuming people either didnt read her whole post or they just dont know what a Vbvac is like.

I did nipple stimulation and I had some good contractions but it never kicked into anything! The second I stopped they would stop too.
Other things I tried was LOTS of pineapple lol, kurb walking, sex, bouncing on yoga ball, squats.
And really random, but I spent ages looking at hilarious pictures online in hopes that me laughing so hard would break my waters lol. But I woke up in labour the next morning. Good luck!
I discussed castor oil with my midwive and she wasn't completely against it and said to let her know if I did take it. But after my own research I decided against it.

No one is jumping at her. One person suggested waiting.

Thats a good sign that hes low. Keep doing what your doing, you still have a little time!

I've read about the nipple stimulation taking some serious commitment. But so far it's the same, they stop soon after I stop. I may try it some more just in case. I'm also going to keep using the birthing ball & stuff.

Just have faith you'll go naturally. When will you see the dr. again?
