In the same boat, won't try anything new and will not eat meat or veggies no matter what we do. But she does eat a lot. She eats lots of cereal, toast, yogurt, cheese, crackers and fruit so I can't really complain. I would just like both my kids to eat a dinner I make for once. My son is a bit younger and way worse, won't eat fruit or yogurt. Will eat cheese on grilled cheese but not raw. Just eats cereal and crackers and toast.. oh and pancakes or french toast. It's so frustrating.

I don't know if this will help, but we used to play a game when my now 4 year old was 3 and he would do that. We used to say, "I'm going to eat your food!" and he would pull the plate away and start eating. Or we would say, "I'm going to eat before you do". Try reverse psychology. Sometimes it helps.

This does work well for my son, but its to get him to eat his normal food that I know he likes. He won't try anything new, he'll just say ok mom you can have it. grrr

We did purees for my daughter and it helped a bit more. My son hated purees, hated even being put in his high chair. Really didn't start eating regularly til over a year old so he may have some sensory issues. He would gag and vomit if I slipped him yogurt. I was just really shocked that he seemed to hate food so much. I do have the baby bullet for my third, can't wait to try it out.

My 3.5 year old doesn't like many different things. I guess I don't understand why you're punishing her because she doesn't want to try new things. I make my son a plate of the same things we eat and ask him to try a bite of each item but if he doesn't want to I don't punish him. I wouldn't want someone forcing me to eat food I had no appetite for. IMO as long as they're not living off chicken nuggets and cookies they'll be fine.

My oldest, she's almost 6 and refuses to try anything new. The only meat she will eat is chicken and fish sticks! Ugh. I give her pediasure once a day ontop of foods (she's 34lbs, almost 4 feet tall!) There is also this juice that is a fruit smoothie - I always push her with those, since she's not a fruit eater either. I also have made smoothies for her with vanilla yogurt & add a little fruit & she doesn't even know the difference. Now, my almost 4 year old will try everything if you let her
