LTB preemie girl clothes!
posted 7th Jan
Looking for a "lot" of preemie size baby girl clothes. Just enough for a few days in case she comes home little.
I know I may make it to term, although after all this it seems like a fairy tale.
If I do wind up with a 6lb+ baby, I'll donate them to the NICU, but I am MUCH less stressed if I feel prepared, so I want to have some ahead and don't want to spend a lot for "new" clothes when used are just as good, cheaper, and not as big of a loss if she doesn't come home or if she doesn't come home little.
So, show me what you have. She'll be a spring baby in So Cal, but I know preemies need extra warmth!

If you aren't able to find anything, I can look tonight.
If you have someone who can though, consignment stores sometimes have stuff at a great price. Also, shrinking newborn clothes in the dryer works like a charm!!

None of my NB clothes ever shrank.
And I've never been able to find more than a piece or two of preemie clothes in a theist/consignment store at all. And I've been an avid TS shopper for well over a decade in 3 different states

lol ok. Tonight I'll look to see what we have here and let you know. All our dryers have shrunk stuff here and there, so we line dry now.

Lily was fullterm and honestly not that small but she did spend the first 2 weeks of her life in preemie clothes because she was so skinny and lost weight. Walmart can have great sales on preemie clothes. My parents had to rush out and buy her picture outfit and take home outfit and the prices there weren't bad! They were cute too!

Thanks!
I've had a small amount of shrinkage on a few things, but not much. And I've seen how tiny she COULD be when I held her bro. No way NB would work. After him, NB clothes look ginormous!

We do have a BCF about an hour from here. If I can't find used, there and Ross are my next step! Thanks

Dang girl im there with ya. I can't find preemie clothes to save my life. Even the stores in the town with the nicu I found 2 sleepers at Walmart. That's it. It sucks. So at least I have skmehing to bring her home in. But iter than that I'm stuck and mine is a winter baby. Someone gave me a onesie but i can't take her out in that in February in Michigan haha

Only get sleepers. You won't be taking your preemie outside much until she's bigger and she will be really skinny so she'll need to be warm. We wasted money on dresses and other things that never got warn! I live in Canada so we have some diff stores... I found a lot at Sears, which I think you also have there. Also Gap sells some baby stuff that is "up to 7 lbs", and Gymboree has "up to 5 lbs". Just some advice.

I was just planning on onesies and sleepers, thanks!
And I'm not even looking to buy new at all. I'm hoping to find used. New I won't buy til I know for sure she'll be small, which would be her birth. Thanks, though.

If your nicu is anything like mine, they will send you home with a bag full of clothes. They get so many donations, or things forgotten that they send babies home with outfits because they get so much coming in. Hopefully you have a term baby and are able to skip over preemie outfits!

Our nicu had tons of clothes and while we didn't take any home, she did have tons of stuff to wear in the NICU and by the time she went home we were able to put some baggy newborn stuff on her.
OP, I searched and searched my whole house only to realize that all her preemie clothes are sitting in the linen closet at my grandmother's house where we used to live!
We go back in March and I can take pics and show you then, if you haven't found enough yet. Sorry!

Let me know when you go. I'll have more idea if I'll need them too.
Can it just be May yet?
