P.T evaluation? help

posted 7th Jan
I don't know if this is the right place for this but my almost 9 month old (will be 9 months on the 13th) is getting evaluated on Wed for P.T (to see if she needs it or not) we are going to the childrens hospital here for it to be done...so what im getting at is im really nervous and worried about what they might say...has anyone done this? what do they do? just look them over like at a normal dr apt or do they mess with them and work with them?

It depends on why you're being referred. Are they concerned with bearing weight on legs, not turning head, weak torso(Not being able to roll over). Most times they just play with them, watch them, probably feel the body for muscle issues, try to stretch their limbs to see how they react. Basically a very thorough dr's appt.

Lol. Yeah, they'll probably test out her motor skills, do tests to see what she can do and tell you if they feel she needs it. My DD needs PT but there was only one at my sons therapy center so she wasnt picked up based on not being "severe enough".
If her neck is stiff they'll probably suggest PT. I see a lot of babies going to PT for that reason. I'm sure she'll do great!

They test the motor skills for the age range the child is in and ask u what ur child can or cannot do. My son had it done.
