Starting rice cereal at what age?

When do you start rice cereal? I have lots of people tell me different times. Some say I could at a few weeks, others say three months and others tell me whenever you want. I am going to ask the Dr but I was just curious like always  

No solids until at least 4 months, but I think they changed it to 6 months. I wouldn't even give rice cereal. It's pointless. It has no nutrition, so your baby is basically eating cardboard.

I never started it. Rice cereal is nothing but empty calories. I started fruits and veggies at 6 months old, no earlier.

I wouldnt start rice cereal unless the doc says its neccessary....its just a filler :/ I started DS on rice cereal at 4 months for various reasons but his doc said I should :/

I never did it or baby food. They started table food when I felt they were ready for it.

We started at 5.5 months. My LO did not do well with solids till around 13 months old. When we have a second child, I won't start cereal or any solids till 6 months.

We never did it.. It serves no nutritional purpose

I started DD at 5 and a half months because the doctor wanted me to before her 6 month appointment.
You only put it in a bottle too if it is ordered by the doctor, usually for acid reflux.

DD wasn't interested at the time anyway and wasn't until she was 7 months.

At a few weeks old that can really mess with their tummies. They don't NEED solids until after one year.

Around 4 months with DD, but will not be doing it at all with this baby.

we started at 4 months but my daughter has reflux so we mixed it with food it was no help they were trying to see if it helped her reflux the AAP recommends waiting till 6 months now.

tried at 5 months, but since he hated it i just skipped it since it doesnt do much anyway besides being a 'filler'
