Horrible sleep pattern...

posted 7th Jan
My DD is 4 months old, and she sleeps from about 4am to 1-2pm. Do you have any tips that might help me get her on a better sleep schedule? She was going to bed at midnight and getting up at 8-9am. Then she started this all of a sudden. And she takes MAYBE a 30 minute nap during the day. I'm at a loss=(

Sincerely,
one exhausted mommy

Wow that's insane!

What do you do with her up until 4am?
Have you tried waking her up earlier during the day, so then she might sleep earlier in the night?

Slowly shift her schedule by like 30 min at a time. Also when it's night keep the lights low and try to engage her to much. No toys no playing just cuddles and gentle soothing voice. During the day keep her active and establish a bedtime routine.

My LO tried doing that with me... I started just turning all the lights and everything off at bedtime, even if she was wide awake, and we would lay there until she fell asleep. Now she knows as soon as the lights go off, we go to sleep lol.

Dd was like this for months. She was fighting sleep. So I would take her into the dim bathroom and run he shower while swaying her and then if she woke up when I put her down I would nurs her back to sleep. Is is an expert sleep fighter still but slowly she is getting on a better schedule.

Mines been up past 2am for as long as I can remember. She's 20 months old now and sleeps from 3am to 1pm. With no naps during the day. I was doing all morning classes last semester and that was terrible. No sleep, ever.
I'm gonna start waking her up half an hour earlier every morning.
