Need some advice Mommas!

posted 6th Jan
Okay, I am due January 8th, which is Tuesday. And I was at the hospital last night with confirmed contractions being only 2 minutes apart. When I got there, they checked me and I was 1.5cm dilated. So my doctor told me to take an hour walk around the hospital. The walk was excruciatingly painful. My contractions were SO strong they had me about dragging my body instead of walking. But I got back to my room and the doctor checked me again. She said I was still 1.5cm dilated but that I had softened a lot from the walk. They sent me home woth an ambien for sleep for the night and said they would probably see me tomorrow. Well, I woke up today around noon with NO contractions. As soon as I got up and started moving, they started again. Only this time they were more like 15 minutes apart. I walked 3.5 hours today and had sex with SO to try to get my labor really going but it seems like nothing is helping. I want to try castor oil tonight because I'm desperate and in pain and nothing else seems to help me get further. I REALLY do not want to go over my due date. Please leave some advice or experiences here for me. I'm extremrly lost and confused. I'm especially confused why at 39 weeks and 5 days and having consistent contractions 2 minutes apart why they didn't just go ahead and induce me. I'm so confused. HELP?!

If youre in pain don't take castor oil and make yourself more miserable. Just keep doing whatever it takes to keep the COntractions going.

There's nothing wrong with going over your due date. You can have contractions for a while before it's time.

Just wait and let your body do what it's made to do. You're not going to be pregnant forever, I promise.

They didnt keep you because you arent progressing. I would go 8-10 hours with consistent contractions then stop then start again. Both pregnancies from 35 weeks on. It sucks but its life. I was 5cm and they were still going to send me home because my contractions werent doing anything. Do not take castor oil it will just cause you to smurf your brains out. Plus do you really wanna have explosive poop in your doctors face while pushing out a baby because its a real possibility. Just keep walking and having sex. Baby will come when ready. If you go over you go over its not the end of the world.

The only thing that you'll give birth to if you take castor oil is diarehha. It sound like you're in early labo. Keep walking, keep having sex and just wait. You can bee in early labor for days or even weeks. Don't do something stupid that could hurt your baby just because you're impatient.

Please do not use castor oil. It could harm your baby.

Omg why do so many people want to try castor oil when there are so many other things that you can try.
If your THAT desperate and your going to try castor oil, please do the research on it first. Everyone I have spoken to that has tried it, had no success with it speeding things up.....the only thing that got sped up was their metabolism.

i believe in castor oil, but if your having contractions don't do it. try other things similar. if u go into labor and the contractions progress which castor oil take about 12 hours to get OUT of your system then unless you stop pooing the doc will proceed with a csection b/c u can't push w/o pooping! Try pinapple, sex, and walking again..Sounds like your almost ready

f you want to be induced call docs now, they will do it, they can induce 39 weeks and up, im so curious to know why they didnt induce you either? seems crappy to me to make you go through so much when baby is technically way full term!

Are you smurfing kidding me. Women poop while pushing out babies all the time (without castor oil). Its part of labor. Doctors dont just put you through major surgery because of some smurf.

Because inductions are stupid unless for a medical reason.
