Before labor

What were you doing before you went into labor?

I never went into labor.  

Watching tv trying to go to sleep. Didn't work though, as soon as I started drifting off BOOM contractions.

That day (42 weeks 5 days), I went swimming in the morning, to lunch, a movie, bowling, and to dinner. Labor started soon after dinner and I think all of the activity did it!

I can't believe you went that far past. I went 42 weeks exactly.. I was so scared because of all the info about your placenta getting old and less nutrients getting to baby & what not.

Its actually not uncommon for women to go several weeks over due. Only in America is it considered a crisis.

I refused induction. My exact words were "keep your hand out of my vagina and the pitocin away from me". DD was a healthy 8lbs. I would never, ever induce unless I was in life threatening danger.

I was induced the morning after thanksgiving so I was still recovering from all te good food from the day before

I wish I was as informed about it now as I was when I was in the situation. I learned all about pitocin, epidurals, and the never ending spiral of issues with induction afterwards. I never thought I would have to go through what I did.

With my oldest I had just gotten home from a Super Bowl party and was trying to relax for the night ( I was 42 weeks exactly) . With my second I had just put my oldest to bed and was going to bed myself ( I was 41 weeks 2 days ) . With my third I had just woken up and was planing on preparing for my baby shower when I noticed I was leaking . I took about an hour for contractions to start ( I was 36 weeks 4 days ) .
