Do you take your kids with you?

posted 6th Jan
I have an appointment tomorrow, my Ankle is messed up and it hurts to walk or rotate it. I made this appointment on Thursday, forgetting the kids didn't go back to school until Tuesday and thinking I had Monday off as I usually do **Plus I needed to see someone asap this has been hurting for a month, and they told me to try to give it time to see if it heals**
Anyway my mom has my oldest daughter for the day and is watching the kids when I go to work that night so I don't want to ask her to watch them any longer then she has to, my dad is watching them Tues when I work and DH works. So I have my 2 younger ones...Would you take them with you (they can behave pretty well) or would you ask for a sitter (mom and dad will watch them if I ask, I just don't like to ask all the time)?

I have never done it.. Only bc DS SCREAMS the whole time we're at his Dr.'s appt.'s, so I'm afraid he'll do that at mine, thinking we're there for him.
But if your kids are well-behaved, I don't see a problem w/ taking them w/ you.

The only time I absolutely find a sitter for the kids is when I have a pelvic exam. Oh I did when I had my allergy testing too. Otherwise, I have no problems bringing my kids.

I take her with me unless it's a pelvic exam or I know I'm getting blood drawn(she freaked out and tried to hit the RN last time she went to an appt where I had blood drawn

Yeah of course why wouldn't I? They are very well behaved and usually just entertain themselves. Only time I don't is when I go for pap, but that's it.

I try not to, I've been asked to reschedule before when I brought my children with me to apps even though they are well behaved.

I would. My children are well behaved so I would have no issue with taking them with me unless my doctor requests that no children be there.

I take my kids everywhere, to any appointment if they are not in school. I dont have anyone to watch them so I can do that stuff alone. lol

I live 2 hours from all of my family, so I never have any choice other than taking DD everywhere I go, and that includes all doc apts. She's fascinated by everything the doctor does, so she's always excited to go, and my doc office is wonderful, they always give her a pen and paper and a lollipop and tell her how adorable she is- she just eats it up LOL I had to go to the ER a few nights ago because I've been really sick and the nurse had to draw blood- She asked if DD wanted to leave the room (with my boyfriend) and she preferred to stay right there and watch. She was amazed by it and asking the lady questions lol. She's almost 4, so I was amazed she was okay with it. It's a little inconvenient but you do what you have to do, ya know?

DD comes with me, even to pelvic exams... She's very well behaved. I bring a couple of toys, and she's good the whole time...
