Anyone else's husband a workaholic?

posted 6th Jan
We arent loaded or anything but between the two of our incomes we are doing alright yet because of our schedules we rarely have time together or family time. Now my husband decides it's time for him to work 9 shifts per week, 3 being overnight shifts and working 16 hours straight for four days in a row. He says he wants to save more money and does not care that he won;t be seeing me or the kids hardly when all I want is family time and time with my husband. He does not want sex often any more either because he says it takes his energy away so that he doesnt have energy for work.

Does anyone else have a husband who would rather be at work all the time than with his family? I have a hard time being okay with this and especially the sex part because I want to do it everyday lol...helpp

Meh. He's a hard worker, but he doesn't really pick up extra hours anymore because he does more than anyone else to begin with, and isn't appreciated when it comes to smurf..

& then on his days off he's usually working on our house (we had a fire) so today, while we should be spending time together, he's painting.

I think its nice that he wants to save for the family but I dont think its something that should put a strain on your sex life.. I would def feel hurt if my husband didnt want to do it as much. Tell him how you feel again!

Mine just informed me he's going to work the day i'm induced because we can't afford him to miss work...which has me beyond pissed. And he doesn't work a job where he can come straight from work...he'll be covered in hog smurf. So yeah, mine totally is.

Yes, Ive never been okay with it and never will be. He's a perfectionist, part of it is wanting to provide but a bigger part is what I call his "superman syndrome". Work is his escape, his excuse for avoiding home problems and it makes him feel important that he can fix all the problems at his job. He doesn't know how to balance home and work, unfortunately work has won the battle and I don't think he even knows how to stop. It hurts me everyday and I can't make him understand.

I wish. I always work more hours than him. After Lexi is born I hope to cut back on hours and him to pick up on some.
