Make sure your drinking lots of water you need it to produce breast milk. Good luck mama I am sure with a little work you can get your supply up.

You can make your own lactation cookies. I do. Just google it. Mine have oatmeal, sugar, flower, flax seed, brewer's yeast and other baking stuff in it. They're super easy, and you can adjust them to your taste. I like to add peanut butter.

I hope so!! It's really upsetting to me. I didn't think I even really wanted to BF when I was pregnant but since having her, she really likes it. We struggled with the latch & now that she latches well it's like my milk isn't there

Quoting Landon's Mommy *+1*:" Oh no I def. do. They said that in the hospital, that if you do the bottle first she will eventually ... [snip!] ... my supply sucks & I want it to be upped as much as I can. Like I said at least 2-3oz. If possible. More would be fab too!"

Trick her and your body. Get a medicine shringe and put in the corner of her mouth drops of formula so she is getting something as she sucks. Its helping your supple as well as her not to get as frustrated.

Oh and remember your baby can get more from your breast than you can from pumping. Alwasy pump every 3 hours round the clock. If you have time during the day pump every 2. Then feed her. I pump for 20 minutes every 3 hours due to my daughter not wanting to latch. Then I feed her her bottle and if she still seems hungry I will let her latch when she isnt hungry cause she does latch better than. Best thing you can do is have baby to breast as much as possible. Stick to a routine

Pumpity pump pump pump!! You can try all the supplements in the world but the only thing that will get your milk supply back on board is stimulation. Like another gal said... nurse and afterwards pump both sides. Pump every 2 hours (every 3 hours throughout the night) and in about a weeks time you should see a difference! Hang in there. P.s. Oatmeal bumps my supply up a little bit

I always got told by many breastfeeding pros & such just cause you cna't pump doesn't mean your not getting enough. I can't pump anything out of mine & my daughter gets plenty. It's normal for your boob to stop reacting to the pump & only to the baby or someone sucking on your nipples.

Quoting Landon's Mommy *+1*:" No I haven't but I'm going to try. Another friend just suggested pumping 1 boob while nursing on the other. She said her LC said this really helps. ??"

Yes! I can pump like 2 drops normally but I can get like 4 oz out of one side if I do this. Because baby helps your letdown a lot so more is coming out.

let her nurse as long as she wants and whenever
i had to block nurse so i fed a whole feed on one side
then the other.boob the next feed

i.drank two bottles of water each session
and i could never pump. i nursed 32 months and could never pump
skin to skin helps
also pumping while nursing.

My right breast will pump all day long but my left wont at all even when it's completely full. And I really only get milk out of my right one during the multiple letdowns! So it's definitely true that pumps dont always work for you.

Im trying to up my supply as well so he has a stash a milk when i go to work.

I have started taking fenugreek pills (6-8 capsules a day.)
Eating lots of oatmeal.
Staying hydrated.
Making sure breasts are emptied so my body knows to make more.

I rented a Medela Symphony from the hospital but I think you can rent them from health supply stores if you call around. It is expensive but the best. Not the medela Instyle or any of those.... It's the Medela Symphony only that saved me. I pumped 20-30 min q 2hrs during the day and every 3-4 hrs at night around the clock. I also used Mother's Milk Tea. Lots of water. I was able to pump for my twins for 10 months! GL honey you can do it!!! I would call the lactation nurse at your health dept, hospital, or Dr office to see what they suggest. Hang in there! I would start pumping with a hospital grade pump ASAP!

They also have these so she doesn't forget to latch. I haven't tried it but I didn't know about it with my twins. Worth a try!
