I like big butts, the song.

I have a 4 year old daughter who will be 5 in june. and a 3 year old son...
My mom just let them listen to i like big butts by sir mix alot and let them watch the video. Am i wrong in thinking this is not a good song for them to listen to? I got into a fight with my mom about it because i made her turn it off, and she just thinks im the worst parent in the world because "its life, and its normal" but i dont really see how letting my child listen to a song that has half naked girls dancing and talking about bimbos and hoes and talking about taking them home... Idk did i over react?

I agree with you but Shrek ruined any say I had with that song

Eh its just a song but if you were uncomfortable with it then your mother should of respected your wishes.

I grew up listening to worse things, so I really wouldn't care. But they're your kids and I think you should be in charge of what they see and hear.

I don't think you are overreacting. I think anything that wouldn't be considered G rated, with kids that age, should be left up to the parents to decide and everyone else should respect that. I can understand maybe making a poor decision, but not arguing with the parent about it afterwards!

This!!! and sadly my kids listen to the same things I did when I grew up and my almost 4 year old knows how to work apple products better than I do.

Just because it's life and they're going to be exposed to it eventually doesn't mean your mom should be intentionally exposing it to them.... ever, but especially this young.
