Messing around with photoshop. Help?

I just got Adobe Photoshop Lightroom 4, and am fidgeting around with it.


Do these look overly messed with?
What could they use to make them look nicer?
I kind of feel like they still just look like snapshots, nothing special.
I don't know, this is my first time using any kind of photoshop, so any advice would be great!









I was excited to use it, so I just snapped pictures of LO eating his breakfast.  

What kind of camera are you using? I feel like the pictures are a little grainy, which shows more if you increase the light.

I'm just using a Canon Powershot SX150.
I'm getting a new camera come taxes, but got my photoshop for Christmas, so I was antsy, haha.

They are a little grainy, it told me there is a way to bring down the graininess, but I couldn't figure out how to do it.  

Well, they ARE just snapshots, so there's not much you can do to make them look extraordinary.
They look good to me (white balance and exposure) aside from the graininess.

Haha, this is true!

I think in a little bit I'll get LO dressed and bring him out for a mini photo shoot and see if that'll be any better.
