re: If your child has red hair

Now my fear is she'll look like the redheades step child or the milkmans baby if she gets red hair since we're all dark brown haired haha

My middle daughter was born with brownish hair and it started to turn red as she got older. It was its reddest from about 12-18 months then it started to turn more auburn. Now it still gets red, especially in the summer but it's not as bright anymore. My youngest daughter was born with reddish hair and it still has a reddish tint at 7 months. I'm anxious to see if it will keep turning red as she gets older. My husband has red hair in his family but neither me or him have it. I love red heads though and I always wanted one but never thought I'd get one!

Gorgeous!! She looks like she has highlights.

I'm afraid if we don't have a redhead the red head gene is gonna slowly get pushed out from our families and nobody will every have red hair again   I mean yeah all of our cousins with red hair Hve time to have red heads but I just dont want the red hair to die out

DD was born with very little hair but you could tell it was red. Both my sister and brother have red hair too and had hair at birth, a decent amount of it too.

Thank you   I know I'm jealous haha. And I understand what you mean. The funny thing with his family is his 2 aunts have red hair, and they each had 1 red head child each and 1 non red head. My fil has reddish hair and then he had 2 kids, my husband and sil and neither of them have red hair so it was surprising for us. It just kinda skips around so there's hope!

She had peach fuzz very little hair  

DD had some, it was very fine though so it didnt really show up in pictures but it was there.

My name is Katie, but I was named after Scarlett O'Hara from Gone With The Wind (her real name was Katie Scarlett) and I have a red hair, with a ruby birthstone!!! haha. but I was bald until I was literally two years old. All I had was red fuzz!!! I have seen red haired babies born with hair, though.

I have freckles everywhere, including my lips and ears. I used to hate them but I love them now.
My son has a few but he's only 3.5 and I'm sure they'll pop up soon.
I try to keep us slathered in sunscreen due to our fair complexion, red hair and blue eyes.

I know what you mean, my husband has dirty blonde hair, I have brown hair and my other two are dirty blonde. Our youngest is the only one with red hair and we are always asked where she got her red hair. My response 'the mailman' and I try to say it as serious as possible   I would not trade my little red head for anything and my husband is hoping that our little boy comes with read hair too but I doubt that would happen.

Awwe   see that's how all the redheads I know are. I was sad when I was due in feb cause I wanted her to have a red birthstone so bad. Then when I found out of be having her by the end of jan I was sad cause shed be preemie but like yay she gets a red birthstone haha

That's my favorite book...Beautiful name too! I fell in love with the name Scarlett after hearing it.
Btw, when I lived in Atlanta, I went to Margaret Mitchell School, a primary school named after the author. I thought it was neat.  

My cousin's son who is almost 5 now was born nearly bald with red hair but it really started to thicken. However, his daughter (Scarlett haha) who will be a year old in February, was born bald with the exception of some longer hair in the back that is strawberry blonde. It hasn't turned completely red but it could still change.  

not to discourage you but my son came out with only a little hair wrapped around, kind of like an old man. bald on top, hair around the ears and neck. it was strawberry blonde. it never fell out...just has grown slowly but it's completely blonde now.
