Homemade chicken pot pie. help

posted 6th Jan
I love chicken pot pie...but everytime i try making it myself, it's nasty. I can't make the topping (bread part) right. I usally mix like a cup of milk, cup of flour, and alittle buttter for taste. Mix that together and lay it on top. but it's still doesn't turn out good. What am i doing wrong?

Oh and roll it out so it's kind of thin before laying on top... that could be part of the problem if it's thick on top.

I would roll it out... and bisquick is pretty good stuff. My Mom used it sometimes and it's faster. I love chicken pot pie too but I hate messing with dough lol

1/2 stick of butter cold cut into cubes a cup of flour mix together with your fingers until the butter is in small pieces like pea sized then add ice cold water a little at a time just until it's wet enough to stick together wrap in plastic and let it sit in the fridge for like 30 minutes. take it out roll it out to 1/4 inch thick and put it on your chicken filling put a couple cuts in it and bake it. If you want it really golden brown brush with egg before baking. if you need more use a whole stick of butter and 2 cups of flour.
