Help!

So usually dont blabber too much but tuesday we are going to court about my daughter. She is two and her father has filed for joint custody. He wants her for 7 days at a time and then me 7 days, which is INSANE. He has only seen her twice in the last year and doesnt pay cs on time, if at all. So I made a list of what I plan on saying so far but I want to make sure he doesnt get her. Theres more too it but I dont think she should have any contact with him. Im pushing for termination of rights with me having full physical and legal custody. Can anyone suggest anything to say or do to make me look amazing and him like smurf... :/ I'm so nervous, my daughter is my world.

If he's really as bad as you say he is then just stick to the truth.

I'm sorry you're having to go through this! Make sure you write down everything that he's done in the past. But him not paying child support on time and only seeing her twice last year, I don't think you've go anything to worry about. i'm need if you need to talk. i went through a nasty custody battle of my oldest!

Yea, but I dont talk well in situations like that... thats why I wrote everything down. Im so nervous! gah!

I know in most states they won't terminate his rights unless there's a stepparent willing to adopt. However, I doubt very much that they will give him joint custody after 2 years of minimal contact. They might start off with supervised visitation if anything.

I just dont want to even have her with him for a day a week! Urgh

My bf said he would adopt her, and we plan on marrying eventually.

The only thing you can do is tell the truth he hasn't been around for basically a year, he does not pay child support, if he has had jail time or charges get copies if you can and bring up the dates he went into jail and for how long, bring up any abuse if any applies to your situation to you, your lo or other people (protection from abuse order and such), any text's or e-mails regarding him not wanting to spend time with your child or any harassing , or threating ones. The other thing you can do if he likes to party a lot (getting wasted) or do things that are not up to par (drugs) if he has pictures posted of it print the pictures and use it as evidence to show for if it is done on a regular basis the court will look at him as immature.

Yes, thats very expensive. I looked at getting one from this free place and they wouldnt help cause he didnt want full custody!

  wwell that sucks, but hey, an expensive lawyer means hes good  

What kind of documentation have you come up with so far?
