okay so I share custody of my kids with their dad, he made the custody scheduled so it's the one we've been using anyways..
My sons birthday is tommorow which is his day and he texts me this morning asking if he could take them today because he told his family he is having a party today, kinda pissed me off because this is my day and tommorow on his actual birthday he has him he could of done a evening get together but his reasoning is that his family all doesnt work today (NOT my issue), I feel like by saying no id only be hurting my son.. would you let him have them or tell him thats tough titties?
Also Last week on his weekend he decided he was to tired and picked them up sunday morning instead of Sat afternoon after work.. And he was supposed to keep them until Wed morning but instead dropped them off tuesday afteroon instead IDK why I didnt ask i just took them...

I dont want to punish my son it's not his fault.. IDK

Since it is for his birthday (and if you didn't already have a party planned) I would allow it this once. But after I would have a serious talk about sticking to the schedule.

No he stil would have them, i planned my party for him for the 8th because i respected that Monday is always his night and like he didnt ask me until 9am this morning..

So he wants to take your son today AND tomorrow?? I would say no! The schedule is set and you would like to do something for him near his bday since you won't have him on his actual bday!

You can't really take into account anything that has happened in the past when dealing with custody agreements. I would let him go.

*didnt realize he JUST asked. If he can't respect your time with them. Then no he shouldn't have them

I would swap him days but for school i have to go to this math tutor monday and wensdays so i can get my grade 12..

I think he should take him on his day. Unless, you can get him on a holiday that you wouldnt have him on. That the only way Id change it.

Not trying to be rude, but what would it be hurting to allow him to have him today?

Or maybe split today with him?

Or bring the baby to the party he planned?

in the past ive been very leanent about letting him have them on days that werent his but i am trying to have consistancy for them and get them on a schedule

no it woudnt hurt for him to have him but i am sick of feeling like i gatta bend to his every whim, i didnt get to have my kids on christmas bc his family does the same thing every year.. He made the custody arrangement.. i dont know how hard it is for him to plan a party on a day when he has them, I do it and never ask for them on his time

I'm really trying not to offend you. That is not my intention. But if you've let him in the past take them when it's not his days, then he will expect you to do the same multiple times. Have you talked to him before about it?
