Eating at a table?

posted 6th Jan
Is that really important? LO is three and we both graze a lot. He prefers to eat mostly in the morning, I prefer to eat at night. We never sit down to eat together because DH is never home. He has no problem sitting if we're out to eat but at.home he.likes to eat a little, go play, come back, etc.

LO doesnt eat if he is in his high chair and so I dont get to eat because he will cry and scream the whole time. SO is gone also and I just let him snack. It is whatever gets him to eat the most.

I think it is but that's the way I grew up. I think it's a great time to talk with each other and bond.

I personally don't think it's a big deal. My family rarely ate together.

I don't see the big deal. My family always ate together at the table, but it's sure as hell wasn't bonding time because no one was aloud to talk   We bonded more sitting and eating at the couch

I feel like it's important. We always eat around the table, with the exception of a few times a month. The kids like to eat picnic style on a table cloth in the living room in a large circle- together.

For me, it's a good time to talk, prepare food together, and just spend some quiet time in each others company. Plus, having a 15 month old, 3 year old and 5 year old it's a lot more convenient to have everyone eating the same thing, at the same time.

My 2 yr old does that- eats at the table, hops down to play, comes back to snatch food and take off again. Hubby n I don't eat at the table bc of his schedule but that's where we try to get the kids to eat at. Sometimes they eat in their room at their little table bc the tantrums the 2 yr old throws is avoidable.

My mom raised us to eat at the table when we were younger but as we got older it was like "smurf it" and we ate wherever we wanted. The only reason we ever really ate at the table is because mom didn't want us to spill on the carpet. And she admitted this lol. We only ever eat at the table during special occassions. I personally don't think it matters because it was never a "bonding" thing to us. If I'm eating I don't wanna talk to you and bond I just want to eat my food.

i were raised eating together. I always made a point to do it still. It gives us at least 2x a day where we turn the tv off and just focus and talk about our day. I usually pull Braden's high chair up and he joins us too

we almost never eat as a family. our "kitchen table" is covered with DD's coloring stuff and my sew machine. lol DD like to graze and it's a fight most time if I put her in one spot. she will eat at a table if we are out.
