washing baby clothes before due date

posted 6th Jan
Okay, I see where a lot of people wash their babies clothes before the baby is born but I was wondering can I use my own detergent? Or is their a certain kind I'm supposed to use?

Use something that is free and clear of dye and scents. You never know what will irritate baby's skin.

They also sell dreft, but IMO... Waste of money.

Their skin is more sensitive than your's it's better to use free and clear detergent. Also, no fabric softener and no dryer sheets.

Most women use a baby detergent encase the baby is allergic. My sisters never washed theirs but I did mine. I used Dreft Landry Detergent.

You can use your own, just watch your babys skin after birth to be sure its not irritated

I would only wash maybe 5 outfits! The baby may not be a girl or boy like you think it is.
Once you wash the clothes you can't take it back.

I use Dreft
I order it in bulk online, so it's not that bad in terms of price.
I just bought a year's worth for like $40 on amazon

Alot of people seem to buy dreft or something special. My DS is 2wks old and has had no problems with Gain.. which is what we use for everyone. .

Also I only washed part of clothes bc if I had too much I plan to take some back. . Especially newborn size. . At 2 wks his toes are at edge of sleepers and he was/is small. 6 12 19.25 inches at birth. 7 2 At 2wk appointment. He didn't need tons of outfits bc we've only been out a couple times. . Thats my money saving advice.

Tide free and clear and downy free and clear has been a life saver for us. My family has very sensitive skin. But we are limited on options here. I will start washing next week if I'm cleared to come off bedrest. Two of my babies tried to come before 36 weeks.
