Quoting LiLMuChAcHa22:" aww I never thought of it that way My SO does have twin cousins but I used to think that it was because of the guy.. but its if you release 2 eggs right? His twin cousins are identical"
Fraternal is hyperovulation (releasing more than one egg at a time) and that is a gene that can only affect the woman (obviously). Identicals are still medically unknown. There are plenty of "theories" but nothing proven.
My mother is a fraternal twin. My second cousins (mom's first cousins on her mothers side) are fraternal twins and oddly enough, even her dad's side is riddled with twins (two sets of identicals and one fraternal). I swear, they are everywhere on my mom's side of the family.
I was the lucky one that got them out of the three of us girls from my mom. There is no "skipping" a generation with the gene. It is there when it is there.
