re: Working

I work part time 20-25 hours a week as a server. My Associates Degree has nothing to do with my job. I make $2.13/hour plus tips. We don't get raises. Ever. The closest I get is an extra $2/hour when I train.

I work 34 hours a week. It's definitely not full time. I don't have a degree. I did have my CNA license when I was in high school, but since I didn't work in that field in the time frame after receiving my license, it expired. I do, somewhat, work in that field now. I'm a home health aide. There's really nowhere to go from here, except to another job haha. I make like, 7.70 an hr I think, and I've been there since 2007. We get raises periodically, but not enough to notice. Maybe like $.10 a year, or just up to minimum wage when it goes up.
I really want to go back to school, but I can't get financial aid and I have a 17 month old so it just seems out of reach for now

I forgot half the questions lol
But I work in a call centre/customer service position in a delivery company. 40hrs a week, considered casual still as I haven't got my contract yet. But I have my own desk & email and smurf so it's garanteed hours.
I make about $770 a week after tax, I'm not expecting a pay increase(excluding the normal 10c per hour 6 monthly increase) unless I go team leader which will be a while.
No qualifications, but I plan to start a customer service certificate soon

I'm a server, I work 5 days a week- approx 30 to 36hrs a week. They consider me full time, no benefits or anything. Hourly is $2.83 plus tips (approx $30-$60/day) no raises. Not 'moving up', it's a small family owned place- one server per shift, no managers, so there's no position above or below me.. Although I've been there the longest, I make the scheule and I train new employees.
I do not have a degree. In 12ms I hope to have a diff job, making AT LEAST $10-$12/hr and work 30-40hrs per week. My $110-$160 a week (in tips) isn't cutting it.

I'm an L&D nurse. I work full time. I have a bachelor's in my field. I don't remember what the rest of the questions were lol

I work at home creating and selling polymer clay items. I also currently sell perfectly posh pampering products. With my home buisness I am currently breaking even. With perfectly posh I make $40-$50 a month, but I only just started three months ago lol.
As far as education goes I have associates in liberal arts and bachelors in science. I actually went to college to become a teacher and got all the way up to internships before I figured out I love kids, but hate the school system. The inter workings of a school are so bad now with politics and school board calling all the shots.
Anyways, I ended up with BS of science instead of teaching degree. Science has always been one of my loves, especially in the areas of research, and geography. If I need to someday I can still get a job with science degree in research, something I would actually like lol. My dream career is to have my own buisness.

I'm a Patient Care Associate at two hospitals, basically a nurse's aid. My pay is good at one hospital and embarrassing low at the other. I started off as a sitter and finally got a promotion after a year of applying for jobs. I like it, for the most part, but I can't wait to get my nursing degree and move up.
ETA: I work about 20-24 hours per week.

I fly out tomorrow to India to do my research project for my PhD in anthropology. I will make $60k next year, but car, driver, transportation, and food are paid for. My benefactor also paid my schooling and my visa, passport, and plane ticket.
I will be working 60-70 hours a week and going to class.
When I get back in a year, I will gross $249k a year as an anthropology expert on the Indian subcontinent. Between the three positions I accepted, I will be working 70 or so hours a week. 6 days a week, 11-12 hour days because they count commute in that.

I work in Social Services, was in the middle of my BA Honours Degree in Social Work however decided it wasn't for me. Working in Social Services/Work is just too dangerous over here and I'm not willing to put myself in that situation anymore. I've decided to do BA Honours Degree in Human Resource Management instead.

Quoting Destiel:" I'm only making this post because I'm currently at work and bored. Do you work? How many hours a week ... [snip!] ... to earn in 12 months time? If you're expecting a pay increase is this due to college education or 'in-house' work education?"
I work at a smurffy retail job, I cant work more than 20 hours.
I make a smurffy 8.50 an hour.
I have a degree in education, NOT to work smurfing retail. I hate it. I am getting no hours now, literally the one day a work I was working was cut this week because the store sucks ass.
I. Hate. My. Job!

I stay home now. When I did work, most recently it was part time (20-25 hrs) & I made about $60k /yr. It was in sales. I also had a cell phone, use of a car when needed, mileage, etc. It was a tough job though, so even part time it had it's own drawbacks & I was technically on call pretty much 24/7 though it was rarely utilized. I worked FT before I had my 1st & then went back thinking I would stay FT, but reduced to part time & that was much better. Then when our house was paid off, I stayed home. Now I do an at home business making baby/kids clothing, but am still working up items/patterns mostly, so I haven't even started to track any money profits, etc. It's not enough to worry about paying taxes or anything at this point. I love doing it, bu twill mos tlikely not stick with it forever. I'll probably go back into teh area I worked before when my kids ar eolder. I maintain alot of contacts periodically via emails & phone calls & have had job offers, so I am trying to keep up to date on the industry so that if I wanted back in, I would still be relevant in my field.
Oh & no, it has NOTHING to do with my education. I have taken LOTS of various courses just for my own knowledge & curiosity (like welding, a course on deafness, etc), but my actual education is in pharmacy & massage therapy. It is totally unrelated to the field I was working in last. Not one bit related in any way shape or form. The only good it did me was I would offer (bribe) to give coworkers a shoulder massage while they helped me troubleshoot or work thorough a problem. THAT was very helpful. LOL
