Blechhhh

I feel like total smurf. I've had the flu for 3 days now and it doesn't seem like its getting any better yet. I don't have a fever but I have a sore throat, alternatively runny/congested nose, cough, body aches and headache. I have been trying to do my best to keep my 2 1/2 year old from getting it, but she's snuck a sip of my drink a couple of times and we co sleep. Usually I cuddle her but lately I've been facing away from her when we sleep so I don't breathe on her.

She's not showing any symptoms yet but I can't remember if she had the flu shot at her 2 year appointment or not. I can call her pediatrician and find out, but if she hasn't had it will getting her the shot ASAP keep her from getting the flu?

If you got the flu I think you got, the flu shot probably won't help. My hubby and the boys all got their flu shots, but they still got it. It lasted 2 weeks too. It was miserable. We all sounded like we were dying (bad cough, sore throat, runny nose) the first week. The second week it was all sinus pressure/dizzyness/etc.

Oh man don't tell me that, I'm so ready for this to be over with already! Honestly since my car broke down we rarely leave the house so I'm thinking someone who came to our Christmas party must have been just getting sick, or just getting over it. We had about 20-25 people over and now two of my cousins (from differnet families) are sick. One is 11, he had the flu and it only lasted 3 days for him. The other one, who is 4 has this flu and mono.

I very rarely get sick, so when I do it SUCKS

We got ambushed too, but it was right before christmas. Me and my oldest 2 got banned from Dh's mom's house on christmas this year because we were so sick. My niece ended up so sick she was at the ER to get checked out. I almost took the boys in until I realized going to the dr's office was a bad idea unless it was absolutely necessary. Nothing like taking them to the place where sick people hang out. lol
