Anyone use a Safety 1st Complete Air 65 convertible seat for

posted 5th Jan
I'm thinking of just skipping the infant seat all together and getting a convertible seat instead. I have the S1st CA65 for my daughter and LOVE it. It says it RFs from 5lbs but some of my friends said that although their convertible seat said it RFed that small, it didn't really fit...

So, have you used this seat with your newb? Did it work or was it too big?

I got an infant seat. But my advice is to look at the lowest strap setting, and remember that for your baby to be safe, that has to be at or below a tiny newborns shoulders.

It worked fine. I took her home from the hospital in it. I just made sure to have extra blankets to roll up so her head wasn't all floppy.

I bought it for my 7-8 month old. She didnt fit, the straps were above her shoulders.

From what I've read the Complete Air 65 is not good for newborns, the slots are too high. Convertible seats that fit newborns well are the Evenflo Triumph 65, Combi Coccoro and the Graco MyRide...I'm sure there are more, these are just the few I've briefly read about.

I know someone who's almost 9 month old is still too smallish for it.

Ah ok, thank you ladies.

Hubby's cousin just had a baby in Nov... a chunky little thing too... maybe she'll outgrow her seat before July and I can use it for a few months until this baby is big enough for a convertible. I just hate to pay so much for a seat it won't use long. I got one second hand from a friend for my first... maybe I'll be lucky again.

unless you have a GIANT newborn, the CA65 will not work or be safe from the beginning.

MyRide 65 is great and usable for most newborns from I've seen.

Thanks. I'll think about it. I was stuck between the MyRide 65 and the S1st CA65 for my DD and liked the CA65 better though... so I'll think about it. I guess the fact that the MyRide65 can really go from birth to much older adds to it's pros... so... I got time to think about it. I'm only 11wks. lol

Thanks everyone!

I have a MyRide and a different safety first. I HATE THE SAFETY FIRST! My son is almost 30" and the straps STILL aren't below his shoulders and it's a bitch to install. It's our secondary seat in my mom's car that only gets used like once a week. There's no angle indicator so you can't install it at a proper angle and if you TRY to go by the "line" the give you there's like no joke 10-12" between the base of the seat and the car seat.

Ah. I got the S1st when she was well over 2yo so she fit in it well.

I'll have to look into the MR again. Thank you.

Car seats are so over whelming x-x

You're welcome   I think if he was FF he'd do great in it but we ERF and he's still only 9 months so it's nearly useless.

Yeah, my DD is still RF but she was also 2yo when we got the SF. Before that she was in a Cosco Sec...something another.

But oh well, I got time to research more. I'll probably just borrow an infant seat until s/he fits into something else. We'll see.

Thanks for the advice.

No problem. I just want to try and save other people the trouble I've had lol. 3 car seats bought for 1 kid.
