Farting Baby

My daughter is 3 weeks old and holy crap can the kid fart! lol She grunts, groans, pushes and lets out huge farts when shes pooping. I dont think Ive ever seen a baby do this before, does anyone elses kids do this? is it weird or is it actually normal? Could it be something in my diet doing it to her or is it just something babies do? Its actually pretty funny when she does it but Im worrying its not normal at all.

lol I'm sorry , no advice here, but I just thought this was too cute.

my son has the grossest farts ever. they smell so bad, its horrid.

its normal, my kids all did it...espeacially in the middle of say...the dr's office...when everyone could hear it...lol/

LoL... JJ farts sooooo loud all the time!! It's so funny! And they smell so bad that most of the time I think he pooped but he didn't.

my nephew is just the same, and he stinks lol

my sister finds that if she eats alot of veg.. brocoli seems the main offender he gets alot worse.

my only advice is to get a gas mask lol

Haha, my son does that too! He scrunches up his face and starts grunting and lets it rip! Some are so loud.. I almost blame my fiance!

my daughter did that too!! she's almost 8 weeks old now and only does it when i give her a certain kind of formula. i put her on the enfamil gentaleese formula for fussy/gassy babies and she doesnt do it anymore and her poos are a bit more solid now too. she seems to be much happier on it. if you use formula you should think about changing what kind your baby's on.

Im glad to know that its normal! Its hilarious when she does it I was just worried that something Im eating might be the culprit. We were at a funeral on the weekend and she started making her farting faces, I was petrified that at a very quiet moment she would let one rip and everyone would stare at me! lol what was I going to do, point and blame the baby?  

My Emily will be 3 months on Sunday and her farts would hurt her when she tried to pass them. I switched her to enfamil gentlease and now she passes them with no problems! I don't even need the gas drops now. But yes, she lets a lot of them. She even does them in her sleep! She is her daddys girl!

My baby doesn't fart. You need to teach your baby some manners.

ohhh man, Logan is a farter! he lets them rip like none other... with the first two formulas he was on, he couldnt get a real fart out, they were just lil toots;... but NOW, hes on soy.. and MAN OH MAN.. he rips these farts that are manly!! and when hes sleeping, he will wiggle around in the crib and rip em.. its funny.. and cute.. but ya, its normal =) Ive been told its a good thing that they are passing the gas, cause at least you know they are getting it out!!!

Thats a good point. Shes mostly breastfed though so its not that a certain brand of formula is bothering her though, at least I dont think. She does get a bottle or two of formula here and there but 95% of the time its breastmilk.
