re: "MIL" advice

If my MIL wanted to buy some horrible, fru fru, tu tu mabob for my kid then I'd just let her. But, I'd tell her it's coming off in the car, then I'd put it back on once we got home. MIL could capture all of her kodak moments and everyone is happy.
She's excited, I'd let her have that.

The thing is, she's the type to be there for the birth....and not be there when we get released or even when we get home, so I don't know why it's a huge deal to her...this is also why we're hoping for a boy. Lol

our tradition is that we pick out the going home outfit. I grew that baby and carried them for 40 weeks and Dh put up with me that long. We deserve to get to pick the first outfit. Plus it keeps anyone from feeling hurt that someone else got to get the outfit, like one grandma instead of the other, for instance.

So I mentioned to my bf about the tutu, and he said he had already told her that if it's a girl, she can get the tutu for pictures, but the baby isn't wearing it home. Score one for bf standing up to his mom. =)
