6 month growth spurt

So I've read that babies usually go through a very big growth spurt right around 6 months. So is it possible that DS is going through it now?? He will be 6 months on the 27th. He's always slept through the night(10 hrs a night) since he was a month and a half but lately he's been waking 2-3 times and just wants to be held and rocked. He will down a bottle and fall back to sleep and then it happens again within a few hours. I've also notice that he will whine in his sleep and even sometimes scream bloody murder but be sound asleep. He's been eating like crazy during the day too. He will be playing around and having fun and all of a sudden start screaming and crying. This has been going on for 3-4 days now.

So could it be the "big growth spurt" I've been reading about?
