best sofa material for little kids?

We are getting all new furniture and SO fell in love with a black leather couch. Got me thinking....

what is the best kind of sofa/loveseat to get when you have little kids? I'm afraid we'll end up with holes in a leather couch!

I think leather would be good because it would be easy to clean in case of spills. We have a microfiber furniture set and it looks so bad now because DD drools and drips her bottles all over it

  I really want leather for our next one because its so easy to clean but DH wont go for it. He hates how sticky and hot it gets in the summer (we live in Florida) and how cold it feels in the winter. We have microfiber which is supposed to be stain resistant. Yeah that is a complete load of crock... Our dogs and baby have made this poor sofa so stain riddled. Its ridiculous.

I'm tempted to be like the little old ladies that put plastic on their couches. LOL

Leather is sticky i summer and cold in winter
buuuuuuut its easy to clean
our couch has marks EVERYWHERE from LO.
we are going to get it steam cleaned but then we have another one on the way so they will be having their own lounge when we move lol

I have leather. It is amazingly easy to clean. Everything wipes right off. Lol. Baby wipes work great!

Ugh. Microfiber is what I really wanted, I love the feel...but I can totally imagine how dirty it would get

Psh, it would only come off for well deserving company. hahah

My mom has white couches in her formal living room. We were never allowed to go in there as kids. Amazingly, even without covers, those couches have ZERO stains. I dont know how she did it...

Also I have 3 rambunctious dogs and (knock on wood) no holes in the leather. My mom has had leather for years and has 5 kids and no hold I hercouches either!

It's super comfy but the ottoman is crusty because of her drool lol

I've wiped my couch down with a Clorox wipe a few times and then go back over it with a damp rag. hehe. Surprisingly, we have had no issues with it ruining the color of the couch.

Omg, that is insane. I avoid white at all costs haha

Leather is best, although it will peel and scuff over time
I have both leather and a suede one and the suede one has stains all over it. I'm waiting for a great deal to buy a new couch and toss it out.
