My 3 year old has had a bright red, scaly rash on her bum for about 3-4 days. It seems to be getting worse in a sense when it comes to redness but not spreading. It is about the size of a quarter, on her upper butt cheeks.
It doesn't hurt, itch or cause her any discomfort. I thought she might be having a flare up of eczema again but when I put the lotion on she said it burned.
The only thing I can think of is we have used a new detergent (Arm and Hammer w/ oxy clean) but I don't remember even washing her clothes with it. My SO said he did a few pairs of her PJs. Would an allergic reaction cause a rash lke that only in one area? If so, how do I clear up the rash and prevent it from happening again? Do I rewash all of her clothes?
She does wear pull ups to bed but during the day she doesn't wear them.
It looks like this but on her bum.
