cloth diaper mamas

posted 5th Jan
Okay so this is something i have considered however i know there is more to it than i am seeing from the outside. How hard is it for you? How much money do you spend usually? Like how often do you buy new ones? What brand do you use? What is your favorite and least favorite thing about them? Any tips, advice, or anything you could let me in on would be GREAT. Thanks in advance

Just do it!!!!!

You will have the laundry but really you can spend as much or as little as your budget allows. If u have a good stash u won't need to buy more. But lots of mamas are a little addicted to cding haha

Very easy.

I've converted a few mommas just by loaning them diapers and letting them try it out. It's not different than an extra load of laundry every now and then.

Speaking of which I may need to wash today.

I'm completely addicted. I have almost 30,a nd keep upping my stash with different kinds. I really like pockets, but am now getting really into good fitteds with covers. I bought a lot of commercial ones (fuzzibunz, alva, sunbaby) and now I'm getting my WAHM stash up. Every baby is different, so the best way to go about it is to get a variety, as many different ones as you can, and see what works best. I do laundry every 2-3 days. I try to not leave it more than 3 days because I don't want mold

I really want to try it. Everyone around me is freaking out and saying im crazy. Like i was all confident in doing it and now they all made me feel like im just acting crazy like this is the most insane smurf they ever heard lol. Im probably just gonna do it tho. It just seems more comfortable for her in my mind.

I'm looking into it as well. Alva baby diaper's are so cheap, it's easy to just try it out.

There is a LOT (at least in my opinion) of work that goes into cloth diapering. especially, if laundry is the one chore in your house that everyone tries to avoid (like mine)

But if you go w/ the cheaper diapers, it can really help in the long run.

See thats what i was thinking. And laundry isn't a problem for me ever as my SO says i wash clothes that have been washed. I just love the smell of detergents & stuff. Its weird.

that is as much as disposables, plus the gas pollution, plus the industrial chemicals they use to clean them. It doesn't seem really worth it financially or eco wise.

Has anyone made their own diapers? I would love to try cloth diapers. I'm pretty crafty and have a sewing machine. I just don't know what I would need to make them.

get like 3-5 alva baby diapers. you'll spend maybe 30.00 with shipping and inserts. If it doesn't work, it's not a huge waste. Plus, you can always re-sell them for a partial refund.

what ever works for you. Just making an observation. Plus, industrial cleaners are probably worse than gel and a little plastic, but that's just my opinion.
