Hubby has been away for work for months

posted 5th Jan
My hubby has been out of town for 2.5 months for work as his line of work has slowed here in Las Vegas. We have seen each other twice since he left but I'm having a really hard time lately with being alone. He is coming back in a month or so, so I have something to look forward to. But its been really hard. Anyone else livingthis situation? I do realize people, especially military deal with this often. But I would love some advice or encouragement or something lol.

My DH started going out of state in October. He comes home for like 3 days a month. It sucks! I had a two year old that loves her Dada to death & I'm half way done with my pregnancy. He's missed everything, even her birthday! It sucks, but I know he's doing it for us. I'm sure he doesn't like it much either. We won't be together full time until after the baby is born, which is due in late May.

My husband was out of town for 4 months the year my daughter was born...it was really tough, especially being hormonal and pregnant. But, like other ladies have said...we talked every free moment we had. We also made arrangements to see each other whenever it was possible. that's what made it easier.

Mine is 3 states away, so on a good day about 6 hours.

Mine is 12 hours away. I think it would be easier if he were at a distance where we could meet each other on the weekends or something.

We were thinking about doing that, but he doesn't have a license right now & I'm high risk.

Sounds like a difficult situation :/
Ive been in a long distance relatonship and the only advice I could share would to just keep an open line of communication... Send pics, texts and inside jokes..maybe a postcard? Good luck!

The most important thing is to talk to him whenever you can. After that you want to keep yourself busy. Immerse yourself in your job, your child(ren), and your friends. If you have any hobbies now is the time to pick them up. Start looking at this as "you" time and realize there are even pros to being alone. For once you'll get to focus on yourself so spend your time wisely and try to embrace being on your own.

I just spent three months away from my husband (not the first time) and I took the time to see a lot of family while I was in the south. I wasn't working so I was also able to see lots of friends I hadn't seen in a long time (and won't see for a long time coming). I also got back into painting again.

This is exactly how I feel. He was gone through all the holidays and my kids miss him terribly (even though he's not.their dad). Trying to to figure out things like bills and when we will see each other next is.so stressful.

what i try to do is occupy myself with other things.... that why my mind is busy and not thinking of him..if ur bored and lonely it only makes it worse...have any hobbies? i like to workout so i workout jam music play with my daughter and cook and keep my self super busy...it works most of the time

Well that's one of my problems between my full time job and the multiple activities my kids participate in (girls scouts, gymnastics, etc) I have so little time to do anything for myself. So I stay up all night thinking which is not good.
