Too much fluid...?--LONG POST. :)

posted 5th Jan
I had my 30 week appointment yesterday with my OB and he said everything looks good, u/s looked great, went over my glucose screening and since I failed the one hour twice (took both the 1 and 3 hour and the only number off are my one hours) I have to check my sugar 2 times a day. He said he doesn't consider my diabetic, but I have a glucose intolerance. He said I'm measuring about 34 weeks and I'm only just about 31. This is the first appt this has happen, normally I'm only measuring about 6 days ahead. He told me before I left there was a lot of fluid around the baby which was normal for mothers that are pre-diabetic or diabetic during pregnancy. He didn't say he was worried or concerned or anything so I didn't think twice about it. .....Until I googled it which I SHOULD NOT HAVE DONE! Now I'm slightly freaking about this whole extra fluid thing. Apparently there are risks to the baby, I can be forced to have him early, my placenta and rupture, I can bleed out by hemorrhage during birth, have a forced c-section...yada yada yada. I'm trying to stay calm by telling myself that if my Dr. was concerned for all of this he would have mentioned it. Have any of you had this in previous pregnancies? How did it turn out? Did your fluid go back to normal and there was nothing to worry about? I'm just curious. Thanks

Google is the devil. If your ob wasn't concerned I wouldn't worry too much about it. I had a little extra fluid and there was no harm to my son and as I got closer to my due date the fluid went back to "normal" levels.

when I was pregnant with my son and got induced the nurse told me that was the most fluid she had ever seen...... Almost 5 liters of amniotic fluid... I thought I was going to have like a 12 pound baby but he came out only 8 and a half pounds, and everything was fine!
